Mr. Antoine Olivier
Instructor of Theater Arts and Drama Artistic Director
As a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, I completed my undergraduate work with a BFA at the University of California at Berkeley, and my postgraduate work at California State University East Bay. At Berkeley, I majored in Fine Arts with an emphasis in the visual art of painting, but focused my postgraduate studies on Theatre and Music performance. I have centered my 39 year teaching career primarily at Saint Mary’s College High School in Berkeley, (teaching Visual Arts, Theatre Arts, Choral Music, and English Composition); however, I have directed theatrical productions for adults, teens and children for the City of Oakland’s Drama Program, as well as many other schools and organizations throughout the East Bay for decades. As a performer, I am the recipient of a Bay Area Theatre Critic’s Award for acting, and while at Cal State East Bay, I was a winner of a National College Theatre Award as Musical Director & Composer of an original score for a production of “OEDIPUS REX” performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
